This is not a lodge but still a very interesting place… a wine shop for the brands of SOGEVINUS. This company runs three other places along the waterfront of Gaia, the lodges for BURMESTER and for CALEM and the KOPKE House. But if you want to compare the wines of those brands plus those from Barros, then this is for sure the best place. In a very relaxed atmosphere you can taste amazing stuff. Where else can you taste a wine from 1937 or 1940 by the glass? Fantastic stuff. In the back of the wine shop are several tables and chairs and the possibility to focus on some outstanding glasses of Port.

When you order wine, you also get some chocolate with it – and I suggest to bring some time with you, because once you start to taste wines at this wine shop, it’s difficult to stop. Very good service – the staff members are very alert and helpful.

No Porto visit is for me complete without a stop at this wine shop. They have everything, from the very cheap to the very expensive bottle – and they have constantly changing special offers, which often provide a good bargain.
